Volunteer at PCS

Be a volunteer at PCS:

If you are a retired teacher or professional, skilled in math, english, science or history and would like to share your skills to help the next generation of young adults find success in their academics we would love to hear from you.  By becoming a volunteer at PCS and putting your talents to good use you will discover that our students are very respectful and are a wonderful group to work with.  As a volunteer, you will most certainly experience great personal satisfaction helping these young people succeed, knowing well that you have made a positive affect on their lives and knowing that you are giving back to the community.  By helping PCS students become more productive citizens, be assured, you are having an impact on the future of our country.

In the spring we usually need volunteers to assist with portfolio evaluations and student interviews.  All newcomers will be paired-up with an experienced evaluator.  In this program, students prepare a portfolio containing their accomplishments for the year and samples of their best works.  Students also prepare a personal reflection of performance for the school year.  Evaluators read the portfolio and then interview the student.  Comments from prior volunteers include – “What an enjoyable experience.  Can I help out again next year?” and “I had no idea these kids had such talent.”
